BOISE RESCUE MISSION MINISTRIES' RIVER OF LIFE

The River of Life Rescue Mission in downtown Boise is BRMMs’ center of services to the homeless men of Boise, as well as the home of the New Life Program for Men in Boise. The building was purchased from the City of Boise in early 2007, and has taken the place of the old Mission building on Front Street in offering shelter, meals, clothing and chapel services. The third floor of the River also is available as transitional housing to men who have completed the New Life Program or the Accountability Program. In April of 2010, the Mission started the Veterans’ Program, setting aside 19 rooms on the third floor of the River of Life shelter for Veterans to live in and receive food, counseling, and long-term care.

During Boise Rescue Mission Ministries’ administration of the River of Life building, several changes have been made to increase services to homeless guests, including a brand new kitchen and new bathrooms and showers. With these updates, the building is able to serve more than 500 meals every day, and provides over 140 beds every night.

As we see the need for shelter in Boise rise with the growing population, we are so grateful to God for this beautiful, functional building, provided through the generosity of compassionate people in this valley.
